Can I have small pets... um... delivered or mailed?
Okay, I have two pets hamsters that I love very much. I'm moving at the end of the month and I can't find any airlines that will allow small pets. I can only find airlines that will take small dogs and cats. I really don't want to leave my hamsters behind with my parents. Is there anyway I can have the delivered to my new location? If anyone knows of anything I can do to get my hamsters to come along with me, please let me know! Thanks!
According to Delta's website (who I find to be the most friendly for pets), as long as your pet is warm-blooded or a bid, you can bring it on board. I'd HIGHLY suggest double-bagging your critters, though. Like... put them in their cage and then in a bag.
Here's the direct quote: "Only warm-blooded mammals and birds considered to be personal pets or show/exhibition animals."
To me, that would include rodents.
I'd suggest calling your airline, though, just to make sure. You cannot mail mammals.
