How to build a dog box for a truck F-150 extended cab?
Does anyone have any idea how to build one or where I can get some plans to build one? I have only 2 medium sized dogs. I just need a door need not be a double-sided box. But if you know the plans for a picture of two ill-use them too. If necessary I can post the box demininsions prefer it to be. Thanks for the help guys.
I used to have a good Black and Decker book that showed the plans for dog houses and dog crates truck. Now I can not find someone I borrowed. I found a few by searching in google - "how to" truck "dog box" - Here's one. Or it could http://www.ehow.com/how_5498349_design-dog-box-truck.html find a book Black and floors in the library or bookstore.

Door Soundproofing
Doors are often the greatest source of disruptive noise in a room. Doors tend to have gaps around them and be made from particularly resonant materials. Additionally, many doors are hollow, making them extremely resonant-think about it; a hollow door is basically like a drum. Sound proofing your door can be done to whatever degree you believe necessary.
The simplest form of door soundproofing is to insulate gaps around the door. The brush-type seals won't work so well, as they are composed of individual fibers. These individual fibers are separate and thus allow air to pass between them. They are, therefore, acoustically transparent. Fin type smoke seals make very good acoustic seals for doors. They may, however, be overkill if your door is one of the hollow, drum-like type. Acoustical doors tend to be expensive, and thus tend to be reserved for sound-critical applications like recording studios, government sites, or administrative offices in factories with lots of heavy machinery.
If you your neighbor's dog keeps you up all night, you might consider one. Also, if you're a hi-fi or home theater aficionado, you may be want an acoustical door to protect your family-and even your neighbors-from you. For the ultimate in acoustical isolation, consider installing acoustical double-door. The Sound Transmission Class (STC) describes the acoustic properties of an acoustical door, assigning it a single number. This number indicates sound transmission loss from one side of the door to the other.
Thus, a larger STC number means the door keeps sound out (and in) more better. Only an accredited laboratory can officially test the door and issue an STC. This keeps manufacturers honest by not allowing them to make up numbers. The door design and construction will maintain the same rating regardless of the specific size of door you buy, as similarly constructed doors will be acoustically similar. Acoustical doors can have windows.
ion is estimated based on window size. Generally, however, louvers or vents will ruin door soundproofing by allowing air and thus vibration to pass through the door freely. When considering door soundproofing, consider whether it comes from a manufacturer who specializes in soundproofing products.
Also, consider hardware and installation, as door soundproofing will not be effective if not installed in an acoustically correct manner. Inquire as to whether the manufacturer guarantees that the door will meet its specified performance in real-world conditions. You want the manufacturer to stand behind their door.
Acoustical doors and windows are available with STC ratings of up to STC 56. This is a very high level of door soundproofing. If you are not running a recording studio, you may not necessarily need the highest possible STC rating. Consider the acoustical properties of the rest of the room where the door will be installed-if the walls are less soundproof than the door, then maybe your door soundproofing is excessive. Alternatively, maybe you need to consider soundproofing the walls in a more robust way.
