Bored Puppy! Help!?
My puppy 5 months old (Mini Schnauzer-Terrier mix,) is bored at home! He has a lot of toys, toys in squealing, Nylabone, edible Nylabone, rope, cow hooves .. But it still looks boring. We try to find to play with him but he gets bored easily and that really just lays on the couch or on our feet. We pet him and hug all the time, take him out several times a day and run around outside. He stays in his cage during the day while we are at work, but we come home during lunch to take it out and play with him. Any suggestions and help would be appreciated! I do not know what more we can do! Sorry! When I say "boring", I mean he sits at the feet or on the sofa staring at us, sometimes moaning. He has food and water and does not always mean you have to go to the bathroom, because we will carry it out and he just sit down in the grass doing nothing. Me wish we could take it to work, but we are not allowed. : (
Sounds like you long ago, and as you give him lots of attention and outputs for their energy. Perhaps one thing you can add is the socialization with other dogs. You may already do this, but assuming that he has had all his shots, a romp regular with the package in the dog park could help. In addition, basic obedience classes for dogs is a good way to socialize your dog with other dogs and other people. When carried out during the day, is this for walking or running in the yard? If he is mostly running on the patio, this could part of the problem too, because the dogs need to go for a walk in the neighborhood every day.
